There are certain things I have absolutely no talent for in life--- one of these is gardening.
Proving that this is probably not a genetic disorder I give you my cousin Susie who's backyard has recently been named as a Certified Wildlife Habitat.Kudos Susie!!! Isn't it beautiful?
Even the fish are beautiful. Just so long as they stay over there!

I take it Susie doesn't live in Lancaster where the sun bakes everything.
My yard is a disaster. I have good intentions but no, it's a weedy mess.
